South African songstress Lady Zamar tried to save herself from a PR nightmare by reportedly pulling out of a controversial podcast episode with Nota Baloyi.
Did Lady Zamar cancel her Nota podcast interview?
Social media was abuzz with fans calling out the Collide star’s ignorance in participating in a podcast interview with a polarising culture commentator, whose run-ins with controversy range from losing a defamation lawsuit against DJ Shimza to calling Mihlali Ndamase an “unattractive object” you “can kill if you want to.”
Ironically, Zamar was scheduled to appear as Nota’s latest guest on his ‘Music Business Authority’ podcast to discuss teen suicide prevention and cyberbullying.
Fans were quick to blast Zamar, whose publicity has taken a hit recently over outcomes in her sexual assault case against Sjava, for overlooking the red flags in plastering her likeness all over the podcast’s promotional content.
“For someone like Lady Zamar to associate herself with the likes of Nota when she’s been a victim of cyber bullying and harassment for years since she outed that gent is just so shocking,” one user wrote on Twitter.
According to celebrity reporter, Phil Mphela, sources close to the Sunshine songstress claim she’s already pulled out of the Nota podcast interview, which is scheduled to stream live on YouTube from 17:30 on Tuesday, 28 February 2023.
Zamar has yet to issue a public statement in response to the online hoopla.
Also, rather interestingly, despite the news leaking from insiders about the reported postponement, the singer had not removed the promotional material from her social media pages when this article was published.
Nota recently came under fire for stirring up wild conspiracy theories about the deaths of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, who were viciously shot and killed outside a popular eatery on Florida Road, in Durban, KZN in early February 2023.
The controversial pundit publicly accused AKA’s friend, Don Design, of allegedly aiding in the rapper’s assassination, a wild statement that triggered a fiery response from Yanga Chief.
Nota has kept true to his assertions and, to this day, spreads questionable claims about AKA’s death.
