Vince McMahon, the former CEO of WWE, is facing a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, for alleged sex trafficking, sexual assault, and emotional abuse.
Vince McMahon slammed with sex trafficking claims by former WWE staffer
The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of the abuse Grant claims to have endured under McMahon’s influence.
Grant’s lawsuit, which also includes former executive John Laurinaitis, alleges McMahon lured her with promises of career advancement, only to exploit and traffic her to other men within WWE.
She claims McMahon violated her rights under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. The lawsuit also seeks to void a nondisclosure agreement signed in 2022, in which McMahon agreed to pay Grant $3 million for her silence about their relationship.
Grant asserts that McMahon ceased payments after the first $1 million instalment.
The details of the lawsuit are graphic and unsettling. Grant describes being forced into sexual acts with McMahon and others, including a disturbing incident where McMahon reportedly defecated on her during a sexual encounter.
The lawsuit details multiple instances of sexual abuse and exploitation, both physically and emotionally.
Janel Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, stated:
“Today’s complaint seeks to hold accountable two WWE executives who sexually assaulted and trafficked Plaintiff Janel Grant, as well as the organization that facilitated or turned a blind eye to the abuse and then swept it under the rug.”
Grant’s lawsuit is not the first time McMahon has faced controversy. His tenure at WWE has been marked by various allegations and legal issues.
However, these recent allegations bring to light a much darker side of McMahon’s legacy within the wrestling entertainment industry.
The lawsuit against McMahon is part of a larger conversation about high-profile celebrities facing similar accusations.
In 2024 alone, several well-known figures in the entertainment and sports industries, the likes of Jamie Foxx, Jimmy Iovine and more infamously, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, have been accused of sexual misconduct.
