Kendrick Lamar, seemingly out of the blue, released a diss track titled Euphoria, directly targeting his longtime foe, Drake.
Kendrick Lamar targets Drake on ‘Euphoria’
In Euphoria, Lamar’s lyrics are meticulously crafted, with sharp attacks woven throughout the track.
He begins subtly, crescendoing to direct accusations by the end of the first verse:
“Know you a master manipulator and habitual liar, too/But don’t tell no lie ’bout me, and I won’t tell truths ’bout you.”
The track escalates with Lamar using a clever play on words related to firearms and Drake’s name:
“The very first time I shot me a Drac’, the homie had told me to aim it this way/I didn’t point down enough/Today, I show you I learned from those mistakes.”
He also directly challenges the integrity of Drake’s Taylor Made Freestyle by expressing a protective stance over 2Pac’s legacy.
Lamar not only addresses Drake but also brings other relevant artists into the narrative.
He mentions J. Cole, referencing Cole’s brief participation in the feud and subsequent retraction of his diss track.
Lamar also evokes Pusha T, known for his stark criticism of Drake, particularly questioning Drake’s commitment as a father in the notorious The Story of Adidon.
