Jamie Foxx has been sued for a sexual assault incident allegedly occurring in 2015 at a rooftop bar in New York. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe in the legal documents, accuses Foxx of leading her to a secluded area of the Catch NYC rooftop lounge and committing acts of sexual assault.
Jamie Foxx linked to alleged 2015 sexual assault in new lawsuit
According to reports, Jane Doe was at the bar when Foxx, along with bar owner Mark Birnbaum, were nearby. The incident reportedly began with a request for a photo with Foxx, followed by compliments from the actor.
The suit alleges that Foxx then took the woman to a private spot where he groped her breasts and proceeded to touch her inappropriately under her pants.
Jane Doe claims that a security guard witnessed the assault but did not intervene. The alleged encounter ended when the woman’s friend found them, and Foxx ceased his actions.
The lawsuit demands compensation for the plaintiff’s pain, suffering, emotional distress, and humiliation, noting that she sought medical attention for soreness resulting from the incident.
The lawsuit also names Catch NYC and Mark Birnbaum as co-defendants. They are accused of enabling Foxx’s behaviour and failing to provide proper supervision of employees.
This case joins several others filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, signed into law in May 2022, as a resource to allow for claims otherwise barred by the statute of limitations.
As of now, there has been no immediate response from Jamie Foxx or his representatives regarding the lawsuit.
This marks the latest high-profile sexual assault civil suit since last week’s saga involving Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs and Cassie Ventura.
Cassie’s lawsuit painted a dark picture of her relationship with Diddy. She alleged years of abuse, control, and sexual exploitation, including horrific “freak-offs” with male prostitutes that Diddy allegedly organised.
This all supposedly went down while Diddy was managing her career at Bad Boy Records.
According to the lawsuit, Diddy wasn’t just Cassie’s boyfriend; he was in charge of almost every aspect of her life. He took care of her expenses, from homes to cars, and even had access to her medical records. Cassie didn’t go to the police out of fear of further harm.
Just one day after Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of rape, sexual, and physical assault, the two reached an amicable settlement.
