Kanye West has terminated another contract, this time agreeing to settle his divorce from ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West settles divorce: So, what exactly does Kim Kardashian get?
After months of delays, prolonged by Ye’s exhaustive lawyer rotations, for the most part, the couple has finally reached a consensus on an amicable unbundling.
As reported by TMZ, Ye has settled for an arrangement that grants him equal access to his children, nine-year-old daughter North, six-year-old son Saint, four-year-old daughter Chicago and three-year-old son Psalm.
Moreover, the former ‘it’ couple will split the children’s expenses 50/50, with Ye responsible for half of his kids’ education and security. On top of that, the Hurricane rapper will have to pay Kim Kardashian $200 000 (est. R3.4 million) in monthly child support.
According to reports, however, this amount is only Ye’s share of the kids’ monthly expenses, and from what we understand, Kim may be forking in the same, if not a tad bit more since she has the children at least 80% of the time.
Court documents seen by the cited publication also indicate that the ex-couple has agreed to involve mediation should any disputes arise in their co-parenting arrangement.
With regards to property, both Kim and Kanye agreed to keep what’s theirs without contest from either party, as stated in their prenuptial contract.
The divorce settlement comes 21 months after Kim Kardashian filed for separation after seven years of marriage. According to insiders, the only reason why proceedings took this long was due to Ye’s refusal to cooperate with the process, forcing his ex-wife to seek a ruling declaring her legally single, which she was awarded.
Monday’s settlement officially marked the end of KimYe.
