G-Unit Studios was inaugurated by the Queens mogul with a vision to transform and innovate within the film and television industry.
Located in Shreveport, the studio not only aims to provide a platform for untold stories and emerging talents but also seeks to stimulate the local economy through job creation and community projects.
“Bringing G-Unit Studios to Shreveport is a commitment to fostering talent, creating opportunities, and building a community that thrives through creativity and innovation,” 50 Cent stated during the launch event.
The establishment of G-Unit Studios is expected to have a substantial positive impact on Shreveport’s economy by creating new jobs and attracting additional investment to the region.
Mayor Tom Arceneaux expressed enthusiasm about the development:
“We are thrilled that G-Unit Studios will plant its roots in Shreveport. This city’s rich culture and talent provides the perfect backdrop for this endeavour,” Arceneaux said.
The studio is anticipated to draw filmmakers and viewers alike, fostering a new era of creativity and prosperity for Shreveport and its residents.
G-Unit Films and Television history
Founded in 2003 as G-Unit Films, 50 Cent’s production company was rebranded in 2010 to G-Unit Films and Television Inc.
Over the years, the company has produced a variety of content, predominantly reflecting Jackson’s personal and professional narratives.
Notable productions include the successful TV series Power on Starz and several feature films such as The Frozen Ground and Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.
In recent developments, Jackson secured a lease for an in-house production facility in Shreveport in 2023, previously known as Millennium Studios, solidifying his company’s presence in the film and TV industry.
“G-Unit has always been more than just entertainment; it’s a platform for voices that need to be heard, stories that need to be told. Bringing G-Unit Studios to Shreveport is not just a business decision; it’s a commitment to fostering talent, creating opportunities, and building a community that thrives through creativity and innovation. We see Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity,” 50 said.
