While the 38-year-old could not lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a decisive victory against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s side — losing by three points to OKC — none of that mattered when, with only eight seconds on the shot clock in the latter parts of the third quarter, he lept back to deliver his signature fadeaway shot and scored the record-breaking bucket that took his points tally to 36.
