Eskom published the weekend loadshedding schedule starting on Friday, which forecasts suspended outages.

In a statement released on Sunday, Eskom confirmed that the suspension of loadshedding would be extended until further notice due to “sustained generation capacity and sufficient emergency reserves.”
“Eskom will provide an update on Friday afternoon or promptly communicate should any significant changes occur,” the utility said

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
The last state of the power system update was on Sunday, 28 April 2024.
At the time, Eskom reported more than 13 898MW of unplanned breakdowns, with the average peak demand expected to average 25 059MW this weekend.
