‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’ and ‘Warzone’ Season 5: Here’s what to expect

Modern Warfare II – New Maps
The Season 5 launch of Modern Warfare II introduces four exciting new maps, including:
- Punta Mar (Core): Battle along the scenic beaches of Las Almas, navigating through shops and accommodations. The map offers diverse gameplay with rooftop vantage points and narrow alleyways.
- Strike (Core): A classic map returning from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Engage in intense battles in the city center, around the clock tower, and through the main street.
- New Gunfight Maps – Lounge and Canals: Experience thrilling gunfights in these compact yet dynamic environments.
New Game Modes
Havoc and Big Capture the Flag are two new game modes designed to challenge players’ skills and teamwork:
- Havoc: A chaotic Team Deathmatch variant with unique gameplay modifiers activated by reaching specific elimination milestones.
- Big Capture the Flag: A large-scale 20v20 Capture the Flag mode with a variety of strategic options, from stealthy solo play to full-force assaults using tanks, helicopters, and launchers.
Warzone – New Features and Vehicles
Warzone introduces Fort Resurgence, a new battleground set in Al Mazrah’s Al Bagra Fortress.
Alongside this addition, players will encounter new vehicles, such as the heavily fortified MRAP and the Zippy Dirt Bike.
Dynamic changes to the Verdansk map come with the infiltration of the Konni Group in Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, and Vondel. New features include Active Combat Zones, Disguise Field upgrades, Battle Revive, Self-Revive Box, and a Scuba Mask.
Faction Showdown and New Operators
In Faction Showdown, players can align with Task Force 141 or the Shadow Company based on the number of enemy Operator eliminations. New Operators, including Commander Graves and the iconic Lara Croft, join the roster.
Celebrate 50 Years of Hip Hop
The season commemorates five decades of hip-hop culture, offering related rewards and special bundles. Players will receive free hip-hop Wartracks for logging in between 7 and 16 August 2023, spanning three decades of hip-hop music.
Season 5 Combat Pack
PlayStation Plus members can download the Season 5 Combat Pack, featuring the Oni Eclipse skin for the Oni Operator and an exclusive Double Player XP bonus from 2 to 3 August 2023.
