Hollywood star Jonathan Majors may have been released from prison for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, but recently leaked text messages between him and the woman left fans with more questions than answers.
Did Jonathan Majors assault woman? – Leaked texts raises more questions
This past weekend, the Creed actor was taken into custody and booked by New York police for allegedly assaulting his partner after an argument over his phone activity.
Less than a day after the news first broke, Majors was released from custody and his lawyer, Priya Chaudhry has been on a clean-up campaign since.
In the latest development, Chaudhry leaked a portion of a text exchange between Majors and the woman in question that occurred the morning after the fiery argument that landed the Quantumania in jail.
According to Majors’ lawyer, the text exchange provides further proof that the actor had, in no way, caused physical harm to the woman.
In the reported text exchange, which you can see below, Majors responded to a message sent by the woman the night of the alleged fight, which hinted at the actor “knowing what happened.”
Completely ignoring the woman’s message, Majors asked the woman if she had the keys, before texting, “goodbye,” for dramatic effect.
Majors’ texts went unanswered until 18:00 that evening when the woman resurfaced to check if the actor was okay. Coincidentally, the woman, whose identity remains unknown, confirmed the actor was arrested as protocol “when [the police] saw the injuries on me and they knew we had a fight.”
“I’m so angry that they did. And I’m sorry you’re in this position. Will make sure nothing happens about this,” the woman wrote.
In a flurry of texts sent between 18:00 and 21:32 on Sunday, 26 March 2023, the woman informed Majors she “told [police] it was my fault for trying to grab your phone.”
She also assured the actor of her story to the police, which was that “this was not an attack and they do not have my blessing on any charges being placed.”
“I read the paper they gave me about strangulation and I said point blank this did not occur and should be removed immediately. The judge is definitely going to be told this. She ensured this to me,” the text from the woman read.
Majors’ lawyer has maintained the actor’s innocence since news of his arrest first surfaced, and on Thursday, she confirmed the text exchange was handed over to law enforcement.
According to Chaudhry, the texts are part of a file of evidence that includes video footage proving the actor had any involvement in the charges laid against him.
Majors has yet to issue a public statement addressing the assault scandal.
