After two exhilarating Creed movies, Michael B Jordan is ready for round three with his directorial debut, Creed III. Here is everything you need to know about the new movie, including the cast, plot, and release date.
‘Creed III’ plot: Here’s what you can expect
In Creed III, Jordan steps back into the ring and the director’s chair for what looks like a more personal story than in the last film.
The second movie pitted Adonis Creed against the son of Rocky Balboa’s rival Ivan Drago, the Soviet super-boxer, who notoriously killed Creed’s father, Apollo, in the ring.
The third instalment, however, will likely centre around Adonis playing an active role in raising his daughter and preparing to face a new foe in the ring, Damien Anderson (Jonathan Majors), albeit the new film focuses more on the protagonist, while Rocky is nowhere to be seen.
‘Creed III’ cast confirmed
Here is a full cast of returning and new characters:
- Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed
- Tessa Thompson as Bianca
- Jonathan Majors as Damien Anderson
- Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago
- Phylicia Rashas as Mary Anne Creed
- Wood Harris as Tony “Little Duke” Evers
- Jacob Duran as Stitch
- Tony Bellew as “Pretty'” Ricky Conlan
- Canelo Alvarez as Saul
As reported by Hollywood Life, Sylvester Stallone will not reprise his role as Rocky in the third Creed film. Instead, the veteran actor is reportedly working on a new Rocky prequel series and another Rocky movie which occurs in a separate ‘cinematic universe’.
When and where can you watch the movie?
The original release date for Creed III was scheduled for Wednesday, 23 November 2022. However, three months before its premiere, the movie was shelved for a later release date.
The latest release date for Creed III hit global theatres, as announced by Jordan, is 3 March 2023.
