According to the 40-year-old singer, the offer from Diddy was a ploy to keep her quiet, with the contract stipulating a mere $300.30 in exchange for her silence on any issues related to Diddy and other influential figures.
She expressed her realisation that accepting such a deal would not only be financially inadequate but would also strip her of the right to share her experiences or pursue any claims.
“It asked me specifically to stay silent and never speak poorly about a human. So then I realized, something really bad is coming,” she said.
This controversy extends beyond O’Day.
The R&B group B5, also previously signed to Bad Boy Records, publicly voiced their concerns about not receiving their publishing rights as promised by Combs during an appearance on the We In Miami podcast, in late 2023.
The group, consisting of five brothers, lamented the lack of communication from Combs and expressed a desire to regain control over their musical works.
