Actor Jonathan Majors has reportedly been dropped by his talent management company, Entertainment 360, and his PR firm, The Lede Company, after his recent arrest for allegedly assaulting a woman.
Has Jonathan Majors been cancelled?
According to Deadline, Italian luxury fashion house Valentino has also uninvited Majors as its guest for the 2023 Met Gala.
The Creed 3 star was arrested on Saturday, 25 March 2023 in New York City for misdemeanour assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment after allegedly slapping his girlfriend in a taxi.
Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, claimed that the alleged victim had texted the actor after his arrest to confess that she was the one who used physical force against him.
Despite his recent legal troubles, Majors has been a rising star in Hollywood, having recently appeared in the critically acclaimed series Lovecraft Country.
He is also set to play the next big villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadline reports that there have been no talks within Marvel to strip him of the Kang the Conqueror role at this time.
The decision by Entertainment 360 and The Lede Company to drop Majors is a significant blow to his career, as talent management and public relations are crucial components in the entertainment industry. However, it remains to be seen if other companies or organisations will follow suit.
Majors has yet to issue a statement regarding the recent developments, and his camp has, at this time, refused to provide a response to requests for comment.
