AKA is considering his legal options as a measured response to a false claim made by Cassper Nyovest.
AKA wants to take legal action against Cassper Nyovest – Here’s why
The Lemonade rapper issued a statement on Saturday, a day after an image showing him holding up a bottle of Billiato surfaced on social media.
AKA made it abundantly clear that not only was the image doctored, but he is, in no way, associated with the liquor brand as an ambassador.
“On Friday 14 October 2022 the purported ‘owner’ and ‘major shareholder’ of an alcohol product made an announcement on multiple social media platforms accompanied by a manipulated image of Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes alleging that AKA is the alcohol product’s new brand ambassador,” the statement read.
The Mass Country star added that despite fulfilling his contractual obligations with Cruz, he still enjoys a fruitful partnership with the international vodka brand.
“The announcement is ill-considered and has and still continues to violate AKA’s rights to have his likeness and image protected by law,” the statement continued.
While AKA has several liquor partnerships in the pipeline, the rapper categorically denied any and all links to Billiato.
AKA concluded the brief statement affirming his intentions to take legal action against Nyovest if any grounds for such exist.
Tensions between the longtime industry enemies recently resurfaced after a brief exchange of fiery tweets. This past weekend, the two rappers sent tongues wagging on social media when they turned up at the same party and were caught on camera amid what many speculated what a heated encounter.
Nyovest, however, downplayed the entire situation, claiming he was merely catching up with an old foe.
“Lol. I was just chatting with lil man and asking how he is doin? Wanted us to talk on the side,I told him it was time to finish this, as man. He ain’t want no smoke. I’ll tell you one thing, that guy ain’t coming to see me in the ring anytime soon. Nothing but fear in his eyes,” Cass tweeted.
Whether the supposed doctored image of AKA was a reaction to the image Supermega posted with his crew outside Drip Footwear headquarters, where Nyovest has a vested interest, remains unknown.
