Actress Natasha Thahane set the internet ablaze when, on Monday, she took to Instagram to confirm her split from controversy-laden footballer Thembinkosi Lorch.
Why did Natasha Thahane break up with Thembinkosi Lorch?
Thahane, without revealing much about the cause of the breakup, opted for an amicable announcement. In the post which has since gone viral across social media, Thahane announced the decision to end the relationship was mutual.
“Despite the change in our relationship, we will remain friends and co-parents,” the actress wrote.
To protect herself from the onslaught of cyberbullying, Thahane closed off comments on the post.
“I am looking forward to this new chapter of my life,” she added.
Thahane’s announcement comes a day after Lorch made his debut appearance for Mamelodi Sundowns, in a one-all stalemate against his former club, Orlando Pirates.

The attacking midfielder played for about an hour before he was subbed off.
“We can all do better, starting with me the coach. Even with the new signings, they can do better,” Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena reflected after the game.
Before moving to Sundowns, Lorch was sentenced to a suspended jail term for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala, who filed charges against the footballer in 2020.
Coincidentally, it was in the heat of the assault scandal that Lorch and Thahane sparked dating rumours.
In March 2022, Thahane sent social media sherlocks into an uproar when she unveiled her baby bump. By then, speculation was already rife about her links to Lorch.
By July 2022, the rumour mill went into overdrive when they were spotted on holiday in Zanzibar.
While they weren’t pictured together at the island resort, images posted on their respective social media pages suggest that this may have been a couples trip.
It was not too long thereafter that the couple embraced their public love affair. It’s unclear, at this juncture, was the cause of the breakup was.
