The controversy unfolded after the two were heard discussing plans to take advantage of female housemates who were intoxicated following a pool party.
The show’s organisers, after conducting an investigation, made the decision to disqualify Bravo B from the game.
An official statement from MultiChoice read:
“The housemate that initiated and drove the conversation (BravoB] has been disqualified from the game, and the other housemate [Makhekhe] will face a reprimand from Big Brother with a social lesson on behaviour etiquette.”
The decision taken by the show was a firm stance against gender-based violence and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all contestants, producers explained.
The comments, which included phrases like “Let’s f***k Liema first, she’s drunk,” made by Makhekhe and agreed upon by Bravo B, ignited a wave of condemnation from viewers and social media users.
Many called for their immediate removal from the show, citing the inappropriateness and potential danger of such remarks.
The reaction from the public was swift, with many expressing disappointment and calling for a zero-tolerance policy towards such behaviour.
Makhekhe, who also partook in the conversation, will remain in the house but will receive a reprimand and coaching to ensure he understands the gravity of his words and actions.
