Lani was arrested for impersonating a healthcare professional in a sting operation conducted by Helen Joseph Hospital’s security team, The incident occurred on Sunday night, 29 October, around 8 p.m. at the main entrance of the hospital.

Security officers spotted Lani, dressed in a hoodie and surgical mask, with a stethoscope around his neck.
This was not his first time entering the facility under false pretences; he had previously been in the hospital to produce misleading content while claiming to be a qualified doctor.
Upon his capture, Lani requested permission to use the restroom, a move that turned out to be an escape attempt. He tried to flee by jumping out of the bathroom window.
Security personnel quickly caught on to his intentions and called for backup. Lani was apprehended again before he could make a successful escape.

Law enforcement was immediately alerted, and Matthew Lani has since been handed over to the police for formal arrest procedures.

He now faces charges for his fraudulent activities, which include producing misleading content and falsely claiming medical qualifications.
