Renowned US evangelical minister Timothy Keller died on the morning of Friday, 19 May 2023, at the age of 72.

In a statement released on Twitter, Keller’s family stated that he took his last breath while alone with his wife, who kissed him on the forehead.
It further shared Keller’s comforting last words: “There is no downside for me leaving, not in the slightest.”
Keller revealed his pancreatic cancer diagnosis in June 2020 and shared that he’d undergone chemotherapy treatment.
Recently, a series of tweets from Keller’s account, signed by his son Michael, informed followers that the evangelist had been discharged from the hospital and would receive hospice care at home.

Redeemer City to City, a nonprofit organisation co-founded by Keller, issued a statement on Twitter expressing their sorrow over his passing. The statement highlighted Keller’s significant role as the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and praised his written works.
It mentioned his trust in the hope of resurrection and revealed that Keller is survived by his wife, three sons and their wives, a sister, and seven grandchildren. The nonprofit also announced plans for a live stream worship service in the coming weeks to honour Keller’s memory.
