Condor Airlines revitalised its summer schedule with direct flights to Frankfurt amid rising demand in South Africa.

The European carrier reasserted its presence in the South African skies with the launch of a seasonal Johannesburg-Frankfurt route.
This move, launched on Friday, 3 November 2023 and set to continue until 13 April 2024, was a response to increasing calls for direct connections between South Africa and Europe.
DE2288 is the main aircraft at the forefront of servicing the route, soaring from Frankfurt to Johannesburg every Monday and Friday, while the return leg, DE2289, embarks from Johannesburg back to Frankfurt on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
These flights facilitate seamless travel for tourists and business travellers alike, eager to explore Johannesburg’s vibrant urban landscape, rich history, and diverse cultural tapestry.

Condor doesn’t stop there; the airline has also introduced a seasonal route from Cape Town to Frankfurt.
Since October 2023, three weekly flights have been operating, with DE2290 departing from Frankfurt midweek and on weekends, and the counterpart, DE2291, returning from Cape Town on alternate days.
With the onset of November 2023, the frequency from Frankfurt to Cape Town has ascended to four weekly flights, encompassing midweek and the weekend.
The schedule will further expand from 18 December 2023, with an additional flight, amplifying the service to five weekly flights to accommodate the holiday surge.
Lufthansa, Condor’s alliance partner, complements this service by offering onward connections to major European cities, thus broadening the travel horizons for passengers originating from South Africa.
