The iPhone 14 Pro is rumoured to launch this September 2022, along with the iPhone 14 series.
The launch follows the announcement of the IOS 16 update, presumed to be released around the same time this year. An official statement from Apple is yet to be released confirming the details of the new iPhone 14 series launch. However, that has not stopped the online rumour mills and supposed product leaks in anticipation of what Apple users can expect.
iPhone 14 Pro: What we know about the leaks and speculations
Apple is predicted to release four models: the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. If the rumours and leaks are to be considered, Apple users should expect slight modifications to the designs of the Pro versions compared to the non-Pro version – which are likely to mimic prior models of the iPhone.
Various specifics regarding the iPhone 14 series have been trending online in recent months. The most recent leaks reveal a dummy unit of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, showing the general appearance of the iPhone 14.
The most notable rumoured design change on this device shows the removal of the display notch – only exclusive to the Pro Max version. The updated Pro Max version will incorporate a pill-shaped design with two hole punches, one for the front camera and the other for Face ID support. The back panel has three camera lenses as well as an LED flash.
The camera bumps for the iPhone 14 series appear more elevated than in previous versions. The Pro’s bumps are assumed to be slightly thicker. Rumours also suggest that only the Pro models will include a 48-megapixel main camera and have an upgraded Apple A16 Bionic chipset.
What else can we expect?
Apple’s 2022 iPhone release is also expected to introduce new colours, perhaps a purple option this time. There are also claims that the colours will have a unique finish that changes tones based on the lighting conditions. These rumours still need to be verified by Apple.
The iPhone 14 colours will allegedly be available in black, white, blue, red and purple, while the iPhone 14 Pro versions will range from graphite, gold, silver and purple.
Allegedly, the upcoming iPhone models incorporate a high-end titanium alloy chassis design. This would mark apple’s first time using this material for an iPhone. These new models are also expected to adopt vapour chamber cooling technology, used to keep a device cooler when it is under heavy stress and improve 5G connection speed.
Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro models will seemingly bring new design features that make them distinctive from its predecessor. The iPhone 14 non-Pro models replicate the designs of the iPhone 13, but the iPhone 14 Pro version will be game-changing in favour of the new designs.
