Facebook rolls out product features to celebrate 10 years of Messenger
Poll Games
You can now play “Most likely to” with your friends to discover what they think about topics. You can either use the prompts by Facebook or you can just create your own like, “Who is most likely to forget to lose their keys?” and more poll questions you can think of.
To play a poll game in your group chat, tap Polls and select the “Most likely to” tab to pick a question and select the names of chat participants to be included as potential answers.
Cash gifting using Facebook Pay
Facebook is also introducing new ways to receive cash gifts directly through Messenger. This feature will, however, be tested on US users only first, and hopefully, it will roll out to everyone after the testing phase. When a friend sends you a cash gift on your birthday you will be notified both on Facebook and Messenger. The notification will be a wrapped message accompanied by virtual ballons.
Once you have confirmed your Facebook Pay details, the cash will be deposited into your bank account. And to send a birthday cash gift, go to the Facebook mobile app and tap the button that appears alongside your friend’s birthday posts in your Facebook News Feed or their profile.
A new way to share contacts on Facebook Messenger
You will now be able to share contacts with your Facebooks friends through Messenger by selecting the contact you want to share and accessing the chat settings and tapping Share Contact under the More Actions section. This will allow you to send contacts to anyone on your friends’ list, which was not available before.
