Xbox Game Pass: Here’s how it works
The digital game market is flooded with new releases, and the top picks are usually pricier than the rest. To mitigate this and give gamers an equal playing field, irrespective of social or class status, Microsoft introduced a tiered subscription model where Xbox users could download free games or, better yet, get premium releases at discounted prices.
The are two tiers, Xbox Game Pass and Ultimate. The former grants gamers access to catalogues for use on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. On the other hand, the Game Pass Ultimate tier unlocks Gold titles and comes along with an Xbox Live subscription.
Game Pass can be purchased in one of three ways:
- Console only: R99 per month
- PC only: R99 per month
- Ultimate: R149 per month
