‘Tis the season to be jolly, and GTA Online is decking the halls with an arsenal of holiday cheer.
GTA Online Christmas Update: Look out for these free gifts and more
The Christmas Update 2023 has dropped like Santa down a chimney, bringing a sleigh-load of festive-themed content, including the Snowball Launcher.
Crafted by the elves at Vom Feuer, this heavy grenade-launcher-type weapon is the perfect way to spread holiday fear… I mean, cheer! But how do you get your mittens on this frosty firepower?
Simply log in between now and 27 December 2023, and it’s yours for free. Once in your weapon wheel, it’s unlimited snowball mayhem!
But remember, this is more of a snowflake than a blizzard – it’s fun but not lethal, so don’t expect to frostbite your foes into submission.
But wait, there’s myrrh! The Snowball Launcher isn’t the only gift under the GTA Online tree. Players can also unwrap the Green Reindeer Beer Hat, Candy Cane weapon, White Xmas Reindeer Hat, and Green Xmas Tree Hat.
It’s like Christmas morning but with more explosions and fewer awkward family photos.
Now, let’s snowball into performance. The Snowball Launcher, while high in the holiday spirit, is low in velocity and lethality. It’s great for knocking down pedestrians and splattering snow on vehicles, but don’t expect to leave a trail of frosty destruction.
And while it won’t send NPCs into a panic, use it near the cops, and you’ll find yourself on Santa’s naughty list with a wanted level.
Time ticks on toward GTA 6: Here are the latest updates
Turning our sleigh towards the future, Rockstar Games has confirmed the launch window for the long-awaited GTA 6.
Set for a 2025 release, it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. However, if you’re still gaming on a PS4 or Xbox One, it might be time for an upgrade, as it’s doubtful the new title will run on such old sleighs.
As for PC gamers, patience is a virtue; Rockstar typically releases on consoles first. Remember, GTA 5 took two years to arrive on PC, and Red Dead Redemption 2 made PC gamers wait a year.
And while Rockstar plans for a 2025 launch, history suggests we might be waiting a bit longer, as the studio is known for delaying releases in the pursuit of gaming perfection.
