Scores of top-draw performances from the genre’s originators, including memorable showcases from women in rap upped the ante at this year’s BET Awards.
However, in the crowd, tensions spilt into absolute violence between JT and Lil Uzi Vert. While details about the brawl remain unclear at this time, witnesses seated a row behind the couple caught footage of the moment JT pelted the I Wanna Rock rapper with her smartphone, hurling impurities.

Shortly after the heated exchange, both JT and Lil Uzi Vert were escorted out of the venue by security, suggesting the couple left the awards ceremony together.
The cause of the altercation remains unknown at this time.
