Cassper Nyovest and AKA have taken their beef to new heights and in the latest quarrel between the two A-list rappers, it seems a tug-of-war is on the cards, concerning The Braai Show.
What happened to AKA’s reality TV show?
It’s no secret that between the two, no love is lost. Nyovest’s beef with AKA is well-documented and this weekend, more flames were fanned in the rivalry when it was announced that Nyovest was positioned to takeover The Braai Show, a concept coined by the Touch My Blood crooner.
You will remember that in 2020, at the height of COVID-19 lockdowns, AKA had conceptualised the reality TV show as part of his content offering on his AKA TV app.
The show’s success allowed Anele Tembe’s former fiancé the opportunity to syndicate the first season on SABC 1 in October 2020.
However, faced with adversity in the untimely — and unsolved — death of Tembe, the production of AKA’s show, of which he owns 50%, was halted.
Cassper Nyovest tagged as S2 host of The Braai Show
In a move that sent shockwaves across SA entertainment, and perhaps the reason behind DJ Speedsta’s rant, Nyovest was announced as the show’s S2 host.
In a tweet, the Sweet and Short rapper claimed he is taking over The Braai Show, replacing AKA’s name on the title with his pseudonym ‘Cass’.
“Broadcast dates will be announced by channel soon!” he exclaimed

According to reports, S2 of The Braai Show with Cass is reportedly scheduled to on Wednesday 8 September 2021, at 18:00 and every week thereafter.
In the midst of the furore that followed the announcement, AKA’s legal representatives Tailor Made Law, noted in a statement that their client was not only aware of the move by his arch nemesis, but “a resolution to the impasse was being negotiated and will now be solely placed in their control to expedite legal intervention.”
“Although not surprised by the opportunism, Mr Forbes does regret the lack of integrity and legal foresight by those who have sought to proceed with this incompetently sanctioned plan,” the statement read.
AKA’s team further revealed that more announcements would be made in due course on the turnout of the tug-of-war.
At this juncture, however, Nyovest is in pole position to pell off the mark with an insurmountable lead in the race for supremacy between the two.
