Specifically, these include the Northern Cape, western and northern parts of the North-West province, the Western Bushveld of Limpopo, the Amajuba Local Municipality of KwaZulu-Natal, and the Joe Gqabi District Municipality and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality of the Eastern Cape.
Advisories: Heatwaves expected to hover over these regions
The advisory noted persistently high temperatures expected over eastern parts of both the North-West and Free State, as well as in Gauteng and OR Tambo and Alfred Nzo District Municipalities of the Eastern Cape.

The heatwave is predicted to last until at least Friday, 6 October 2023.

Eastern Cape
Both the western and eastern halves of the province have varying conditions.
Morning fog is anticipated, transitioning to partly cloudy and cool to warm weather, with isolated showers and thundershowers expected in the afternoon.
Free State
The Free State is expected to be fine and hot, aligning with the trend observed in multiple other provinces.
Gauteng
The weather is expected to be fine and hot, with an extreme UVB sunburn index.
KwaZulu-Natal
Partly cloudy conditions are expected in the east in the morning, followed by fine and warm to hot weather, becoming very hot in places over the interior.
Limpopo
Similarly, Limpopo is expected to experience fine and hot conditions.
Mpumalanga
In Mpumalanga, the day is also forecasted to be fine and hot.
North West
The province is reported to be fine and hot as well.
Northern Cape
The morning is expected to bring fog patches along the coast where it would be cool.
Otherwise, the province is to be fine with conditions varying from hot to very hot, but partly cloudy in the west. Winds along the coast should be moderate and southerly.
Western Cape
The province is expected to have early morning fog patches along the coast and adjacent interior, followed by partly cloudy and warm conditions.
Some areas of the central Karoo are predicted to be hot.
Wind directions along the coast should be variable, with strength expected to reach near-gale between Gansbaai and Hout Bay in the late afternoon.
The UVB sunburn index is reported as high.
