Comedian and actor Pete Davidson is reportedly set to return to the iconic sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live (SNL), as a host in May 2023.
Pete Davidson reportedly set to return to ‘SNL’ on this date
The news comes just two days after the premiere of his new series, Bupkis, which airs on the Peacock streaming platform.
According to an exclusive report by Page Six, Davidson is scheduled to host SNL on Saturday, 6 May 2023, marking his first appearance on the show since his exit this time in 2022.
The publication also added that Davidson is set to make an appearance at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday 1 May 2023.
Davidson’s return to SNL as a host is significant, as he had been a regular cast member of the show since 2014, and his departure last year was seen as a major loss to the program.
During his tenure on SNL, Davidson became known for his irreverent humour and topical sketches, often touching on subjects like mental health and addiction, which he has openly discussed in his stand-up comedy and interviews.
Davidson’s upcoming hosting gig on SNL is likely to be a highly anticipated event, given his popularity among fans and his recent successes in film and television.
In addition to Bupkis, which he wrote, produced, and stars in, Davidson has appeared in a number of high-profile projects, including the 2021 film The King of Staten Island, and the Hulu original series, Only Murders in the Building.
As of this writing, there has been no official confirmation from SNL or Davidson’s representatives regarding his hosting duties.
However, given the timing of the report and the excitement surrounding Davidson’s return to SNL, it is likely that fans can expect to see him back on the iconic stage next month.
