Kodak Black revealed exciting news for his fans with the announcement of his upcoming fifth studio album ‘Pistolz and Pearlz‘ later this month.
Kodak Black ‘Pistolz and Pearlz’ album details revealed
The highly anticipated LP is set to drop on Friday, 26 May 2023, creating fierce competition among rap releases on the same day with Lil Durk‘s “Almost Healed” and Moneybagg Yo’s “Hard to Love: Heartless Edition.”
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Sniper Gang leader expressed his gratitude to everyone who has been part of his journey.
Sharing the album’s cover art and tracklist, Kodak Black wrote,
“PISTOLS & PEARLS – 5/26/23 THANX to EVERYONE THATS BEEN ON THIS JOURNEY WITH ME LUVIN & THUGGIN! I COULDNT FIND PEACE WITHOUT ALL THE VIOLENCE @atlanticrecords It’s Been Well. Nothing But Gratitude & The Utmost Respect.”
The 21-track album will feature guest appearances from artists such as EST Gee, Loe Shimmy, and several other talented artists from the Sniper Gang.
‘Pistolz & Pearlz‘ marks Kodak Black’s final release under Atlantic Records, his label home since 2017’s ‘Painting Pictures.’ Following the album’s release, the artist will be taking his talents to Capitol Records, where he signed a deal in October 2022.
This forthcoming project follows Kodak Black’s successful album “Back For Everything” in 2022, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with impressive first-week sales of 60 000 copies.
The album featured the smash hit Super Gremlin, which achieved similar success on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned platinum certification from the RIAA.
It’s worth noting that Lil Durk’s Almost Healed was initially scheduled for a face-off with his rival NBA YoungBoy on Friday, 12 May 2023.
However, ‘Smurk’ delayed the release and, instead, surprised fans with the J. Cole-assisted single All My Life, which is expected to make a significant debut on the Billboard Hot 100 next week.
Notably, there is no animosity between Lil Durk and Kodak Black, as they are set to embark on a joint tour called the Sorry For The Drought Tour this summer.
Meanwhile, Moneybagg Yo recently announced his project Hard to Love: Heartless Edition after a two-year absence from music.
In a heartfelt letter, the Memphis rapper explained that making music served as a safe outlet for his emotions and dark thoughts during his journey of gaining and losing.
This mixtape is just one of the two projects Moneybagg Yo plans to release this year alongside his fifth studio album.
With these three highly anticipated album releases happening simultaneously, fans of Kodak Black, Lil Durk, and Moneybagg Yo are eagerly anticipating an exciting day in the rap music landscape on Friday, 26 May 2023.
