Katlego Maboe will make his on-screen return to SABC 3‘s popular The Expresso Morning Show in a few days.
When will Katlego Maboe return to ‘The Expresso Morning Show’?
As reported by Channel24, the show’s producers, SABC 3 and Cardova TV, confirmed that almost two years after Maboe was axed, the revered host is set to make his return to The Expresso Morning Show on Monday, 8 August 2022.
In a press statement, the show’s producers confirmed that Maboe’s first return to the talk show will be the perfect platform to hear, for the first time on television, his journey to reclaiming his reputation, which was tarnished by the 2020 cheating scandal.
On Monday, The Expresso Morning Show will air a three-hour exclusive featuring Maboe’s journey back to the show he dominated for a decade. This was the trailer that dropped on social media ahead of Monday’s exclusive:
“It truly is difficult to put into words what I feel at the moment – being back to the place I called home for a decade. I’m filled with so much gratitude for all those who have been supportive and encouraging throughout this journey. I’m looking forward to having the opportunity, once again, to help an incredible team deliver an inspiring show to our people,” Maboe wrote in a statement.
In October 2020, Maboe was blasted on social media by his former partner Monique Muller for cheating and domestic abuse. The case, however, was thrown out of court and while, to this day, Muller maintains her claims against the father of her son, the famed broadcaster has emerged from the scandal with his reputation still intact.
“S3 has always viewed the allegations levelled against Mr Maboe in a serious light, and we are delighted that the courts have exonerated him. He can now return to the Expresso family as the host of the show,” head of channelling at SABC 3, Pat Van Heerden, noted.
