Disgraced TV presenter Katlego Maboe took to social media, on Monday, to release a press statement on the outcome of his court case with former romantic partner Monique Muller.
Katlego Maboe wins domestic violence case
On Thursday 27 January 2022, the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court exonerated the presenter from accusations of misconduct and domestic abuse. Muller, from what we understand, sought a protection order against the former Expresso Show host.
“The most important thing to me is the wellbeing of my son and fortunately things have settled into a routine for him after being put through such a terrible and lengthy process. I am so grateful to my friends and family, and my incredible team for their ongoing support, and to the justice system for ruling in favour of the truth,” Maboe wrote.
The disgraced TV presenter, we believe, is still embroiled in court battles with Seth Muller, Monique’s brother, and Women for Change founder Sabrina Walter, who is accused of making defamatory statements against Maboe “which led to his removal as a SAFTA nominee in the category of Best TV Presenter.”
Monique Muller issues response to court ruling
Muller, who mothers Maboe’s son, issued her own response on social media. The former marketing representative took to social media and, without the assistance of a PR agency, made a number of things clear regarding the court ruling.
“To set the record straight. As per agreement between the parties, there has been no new acts of domestic violence since the application of the IPO (interim protection order). This is the correct outcome as per the court ruling,” she explained.
According to Muller, Maboe’s PR team framed the court decision as another blow in her alleged attempts at attacking his character when, in fact, the protection order application was only thrown out on the basis that no new acts of domestic violence had been reported.
“I actually find it quite appalling that these people continue to lie on such a public platform when the official documents say something completely different. People have already put their careers on the line supporting these lies. And they just keep acting unethically. No worries, I won’t be making any statements. I’ll only be posting the facts,” Muller warned.
