JoJo Robinson took to social media to announce her decision to exit the Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) franchise after the raucous events of Wednesday’s episode.
JoJo Robinson quits ‘RHOD’: Here’s why
The eccentric tattoo enthusiast left fans of the reality show gob-smacked when she revealed, in a series of Instagram story posts, she’s not returning for future seasons due to “the pure hate and toxic behaviour” she’s endured during a recent trip with her cast mates.
In Episode 11, the ‘RHOD’ cast took a trip to the picturesque Pezula Resort in Knysna, Western Cape, organised by Slee, whose intentions were purely fixed on mending broken ties between the housewives.
However, not a day into the trip did tensions explode, first between Nonku Williams and Mbali, and soon thereafter, Robinson and Sorisha.
On the show, an emotional Robinson stormed off from the group dinner after a brief scream-fest with Sorisha, and Nonku, accompanied by Ruan Scheepers, followed suit.
Robinson would reappear in another scuffle toward the end of the episode, this time with former friend Annie.
According to star, not only were her castmates a contributing factor to her decision to leave the show, but behind the scenes, “it got so bad in the trip medics were called because I had a panic attack that led to a seizure.”
Robinson added that her mental breakdown was exacerbated by claims that she had inflated the truth about her husband’s heart problems.
“Bringing my husband into this s**t and then watching everyone laughing about serious issues. His father passed of a heart issue a few months before these episodes [were] shot. It’s NOT a joke topic. I actually feel sick watching this show,” Robinson exclaimed.
The eccentric tattoo enthusiast is expected to appear on Episode 12 of ‘RHOD’, which airs on Showmax from Wednesday, 19 April 2023.
