South African rapper Emtee has opened up about his strained relationship with fellow artist Flash Ikumkani, revealing the reason for their fallout.
Emtee confirms Flash Ikumkani beef
The two artists had previously collaborated on several tracks together, with the most notable being Laqhasha from Emtee’s 2021 album Logan.
However, it seems that their professional relationship came to an end due to Flash’s comments about Lolli Native.
Emtee, who recently tweeted about his forthcoming album DIY 3, was asked by a fan about his relationship with Flash.
In response, he revealed that Flash had “talked sh*t” about Lolli Native after leaving Emtee’s record label.
Emtee didn’t go into any further detail about the comments made by Flash, but it’s clear that they were enough to damage their relationship.
Despite the previous collaborations between the two artists, Emtee made it clear that he has no intention of working with Flash again. When a fan asked why, he responded with a blunt “the f*ck would I work with flash for?” tweet.
As the rapper’s latest album release date nears, so does his next court appearance in the assault matter involving his estranged fianceè, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy.
The Roll Up rapper handed himself in at a police station on 8 March 2023, after Chinsamy filed abuse charges five days earlier.
Chinsamy sent shockwaves reverberating across social media when, on Friday, 3 March 2023, she exposed the rapper, whom she has two kids with, and a third on the way, as an alleged abuser.
During an Instagram Live that went horribly wrong, Emtee captured footage of his squabble with Chinsamy and her mother.
The spat was over the rapper’s all-night escapades but things quickly escalated when Chinsamy pulled out her phone to show fans a picture of her swollen face.
According to the rapper’s fiancee, she was allegedly beaten up by Emtee on Valentine’s Day. She was seven months pregnant at the time and her family had only found out about her gestation on the Instagram Live spat that went viral.
Emtee remains out on bail pending his next court date, albeit, he’s rubbished rumours of his arrest and, instead, insists he was the victim of abuse.
“Both mother and daughter took turns, choking me, tryna suffocate me. Now the weightlifting brother is threatening to kill me. Can I be single, please? I’m a man of peace. Somebody, please help! She even called the police on me twice, but I was completely innocent. They even took my weed. She says I hit her but it is the other way around, and she cusses at me,” he wrote on Twitter at the time.
