Emtee may be on a collision course to jail if his fiancee, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy, doubles down on the abuse charges she recently filed against him.
Emtee abuse charges: Here’s what we know
As reported by City Press, the Roll Up rapper handed himself in at a police station on Wednesday, 8 March 2023, after Chinsamy filed abuse charges five days earlier.
In a statement, Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed Emtee appeared before a magistrate at a court in Midrand and was subsequently granted bail.
However, in a bizarre twist, Emtee took to social media, on Thursday, to vehemently deny claims of his arrest.
In fact, according to the rapper, he was the true victim of abuse.
“Both mother and daughter took turns, choking me, tryna suffocate me. Now the weightlifting brother is threatening to kill me. Can I be single, please? I’m a man of peace. Somebody, please help! She even called the police on me twice, but I was completely innocent. They even took my weed. She says I hit her but it is the other way around, and she cusses at me,” he wrote on Twitter.
Nicole Chinsamy shows receipts of her abuse claims
Nicole Chinsamy sent shockwaves reverberating across social media when, on Friday, 3 March 2023, she exposed the Roll Up rapper, whom she has two kids with, and a third on the way, as an alleged abuser.
During an Instagram Live that went horribly wrong, Emtee captured footage of his squabble with Chinsamy and her mother.
The spat was over the rapper’s all-night escapades but things quickly escalated when Chinsamy pulled out her phone to show fans a picture of her swollen face.
According to the rapper’s fiancee, she was allegedly beaten up by Emtee on Valentine’s Day. She was seven months pregnant at the time and her family had only found out about her gestation on the Instagram Live spat that went viral.
Women For Change, a women’s rights activist group, leaked more disturbing pictures of Chinsamy’s bruises.
The activist group confirmed reps have been “speaking to Nicole’s family [for] weeks.”
“The current situation is extremely difficult and unsafe for Nicole and her family, knowing the public stand and power of her husband (sp),” the group shared.
It remains unclear, at this juncture, if Nicole and her two boys, Avery (eight) and Logan (five), still reside at the rapper’s apartment.
