It was only a matter of time before we heard from Riky Rick about the recent tirade AKA went on and sure enough, the Kotini king came foward on Twitter with a message to fans about how bad beef is for the culture.
Riky Rick: ‘I don’t pick sides, this is not soccer’
Riky Rick has been pit as the accelerant that reignited the beef between AKA and Cassper Nyovest. The Sidl’ukotini star was chatting to Da Les on Instagram Live and shared his two cents on the recent spat between Supamega and Sizwe Dhlomo.
He basically sided with AKA and this kicked off a series of events that saw Nyovest on the receiving end of a Twitter rant, to which he — as per the norm — accused Mega of being a drug addict.
Riky Rick took to his Twitter page to speak on the long-drawn-out beef between the two rappers, one that he has been wedged in for years.
“The AKA/Cass beef is exhausting for the game. It might [be] exciting for twitter but behind the scenes, it’s something most rappers keep quiet on because it’s draining the life out of the culture,” he wrote.
Makhado hinted at the ramifications a beef of this magnitude has on the growth of South African Hip-Hop.
Makhado admits he misses Nyovest as a friend
In the midst of pouring out his heart, Makhado conceded to missing Nyovest as a friend. Things fell apart between the two and while it is not entirely clear what broke their friendship, one thing is for sure: AKA had something to do with it.
The rapper admitted that Nyovest missing from his life is a big loss and he wishes things were different. However, a bigger goal would be to see AKA and Nyovest squash their longstanding hatred for each other.
This does not seem likely, though. Nyovest’s most recent jab at AKA was a direct threat to pummel his face in a boxing ring.
