According to the statement released by Costa Titch’s family, the post-mortem examination uncovered that the rapper suffered from significant strain on his heart, a condition he was unaware of, which was exacerbated by ongoing stress and fatigue.
This severe strain led to an irregular heartbeat, ultimately causing the seizure that resulted in his death.
These findings provide a medical explanation for his unexpected collapse and dispel earlier uncertainties about the circumstances of his passing.
Family abandons claims of foul play
The revelation of the natural causes behind Costa Titch’s death marks a dramatic shift from the family’s initial stance.
In July 2023, amid unresolved questions and pending toxicology results, Titch’s mother, Lara Langaveld, strongly contested the idea that a seizure could have been responsible for her son’s death.
“We still have had no answers, but the pathologist who did his autopsy has been very kind to me during this [difficult time]. I won’t rest [until I know what happened to my son],” she said at the time.
However, with the recent conclusive post-mortem results, the family has stepped back from these claims, accepting the medical explanation provided.

Costa Titch was one of the headliners at the Ultra Music Festival held in Johannesburg on 11 March 2023. During his performance, which fans eagerly watched, he suddenly collapsed on stage.
