Nathaniel Charles Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild, was born in Cambridge, England, on 29 April 1936. The eldest son of Victor Rothschild, 3rd Baron Rothschild, by his first wife Barbara Judith Rothschild, he was a descendant of the Rothschild banking family, known for their significant contributions to banking and finance throughout Europe.
