Peter Mabuse, or DJ Mashata, was shot and killed in Soshanguve this past weekend and last-living footage capturing his final moments before the brutal murder has surfaced online.

DJ Mashata was hosting his weekly event, the ‘All Black With Mashata’ party at Epozini Lifestyle, a well-known venue in Soshanguve when tragedy struck.
Video footage from the event shows him enthusiastically singing along to Michael Jackson’s Heal the World, moments before the fatal shooting.
The footage also briefly captures a man shaking hands with DJ Mashata and pointing at him, sparking rumours about his involvement in the murder.
However, authorities have not confirmed any suspects.
Following the incident, Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza stated that murder and attempted murder cases have been opened.
Kweza confirmed that the victims were attacked near Tshwane University of Technology, leading to one death and one injury.
Who killed DJ Mashata?
The exact circumstances surrounding DJ Mashata’s death remain unclear.
He was reportedly driving away from the event in a bakkie with a friend when they were both shot. DJ Mashata succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The identity of the gunmen and their motives are still under investigation, with police pursuing several leads.
The family released a statement expressing their grief and confirming the details of the attack.
“The family is appreciative of all the messages of support and condolences that have started to flow in and humbly request that they be given the space and time to deal with the trauma,” his manager Gugu Ngubeni wrote in a statement.
