O.J. Simpson biography
Born on 9 July 1947, Orenthal James Simpson rose to fame as an outstanding football player.
Simpson played 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Buffalo Bills, where he left a significant mark by being the first NFL player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season—a record set during a 14-game season.
After retiring from professional football, he pursued careers in acting and broadcasting.
His achievements on the field were overshadowed by his later life controversies, including his 1995 acquittal in the highly publicised murder trial of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
In 2007, Simpson was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping and served nine years in prison before being released on parole in 2017.
