The incident unfolded at the FedEx Forum, where rapper Lil Baby was scheduled to perform on Thursday night. According to Sgt. Louis Brownlee of the Memphis Police Department, an adult male was found wounded at approximately 22:23 (GMT-5).
He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The identity of the shooter remains unknown, and it is unclear how they managed to bring a firearm into the venue. The FedEx Forum, like many event spaces, requires attendees to pass through metal detectors before entering to ensure safety.
Lil Baby was headlining the concert, with a lineup that included The Kid LAROI, Rylo Rodriguez, Hunxho, Gloss Up, and GloRilla.
