So, Gcinile didn’t hold back when she addressed the leak.
She said:
“I don’t moan for leaving, I was just having sex just like anybody. It is unfortunate that someone I trusted leaked the tape.”
She also pointed out that her account got hacked, likely by Grootman, adding:
“My account got hacked by this Themba Selahle monster. I didn’t deactivate.”
It’s clear that Gcinile is super upset about the breach of trust, but the disgraced ex has every intention of clawing her way out of the rut.
She promised to go live on Instagram to address her side of the story at midnight, but, at least at this time, she’s yet to honour her word.
‘Arrest Grootman’ calls ring loud on social media
Twitter and Instagram are lit with calls for Grootman’s arrest, who has been on the radar of law enforcement for multiple cases of fraud.
People are furious, slamming Grootman for his actions and rallying behind Gcinile.
One user tweeted:
“Grootman has gone too far this time. Leaking a sex tape is a serious violation of privacy. He needs to face the consequences.”
Another wrote, “Gcinile trusted him, and he betrayed that trust in the worst way possible. #ArrestGrootman.”
It’s pretty clear that public opinion is not on Grootman’s side.
Fans and followers are calling for his head, demanding that he be held accountable for this violation.
Does South Africa prosecute revenge porn?
In South Africa, revenge porn is a big no-no. The Films and Publications Amendment Act, which kicked in around 2019, makes it illegal to share private sexual images without consent. If you get caught, you could face fines and even jail time.
With this law in place, Grootman could be in serious trouble if it’s proven that he leaked the tape.
The legal system aims to protect people’s privacy and dignity, ensuring that anyone who crosses the line faces the consequences.
As this drama continues to unfold, everyone’s waiting to see what legal steps will be taken against Grootman. Right now, Gcinile Twala has the public’s full support.
