Renowned rapper G Herbo finds himself entangled in legal issues once again, following his recent arrest in Chicago on Sunday evening for gun possession.
G Herbo arrested: Here’s what we know about the gun possession charges
Law enforcement sources reveal that the arrest took place near North Wabash Avenue and East Ontario Street, familiar locations often referenced in Herbo’s songs.
According to TMZ, G Herbo was apprehended after police discovered a firearm in his possession. He was subsequently booked on charges of misdemeanour unlawful use of a weapon in a public place.
After posting bail, Herbo has been released and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
This latest arrest compounds the legal challenges faced by the drill rapper, who is still grappling with fraud charges stemming from an arrest in December 2020.
The allegations against G Herbo and his associates involve a large-scale fraud scheme, with accusations of using stolen credit cards to fund lavish vacations, private jet trips, and even the purchase of “designer puppies.”
Federal documents obtained by TMZ outline the claims against G Herbo, stating that he conspired with his music promoter, Antonio Strong, and other crew members to defraud numerous businesses over a span of four years.
The accusations detail instances where Herbo used stolen credit cards, provided by Strong, to secure a private villa in Jamaica and purchase high-end pets from a luxury pet store.
Furthermore, federal prosecutors assert that G Herbo and his associates engaged in various fraudulent activities, including private jet charters, yacht rentals, exotic car leases, and luxurious accommodations at hotels and vacation rentals.
G Herbo faces charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aiding and abetting aggravated identity theft.
Similarly, Antonio Strong faces multiple counts, including wire fraud, in connection with the alleged fraudulent activities.
