The Pont Neuf bridge in Paris served as the breathtaking backdrop for this momentous occasion, where Pharrell’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection left an indelible mark on attendees.
The invite to the event hinted at a theme celebrating joy and love, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
Guests embarked on a boat journey from Musée d’Orsay to the adorned golden bridge, basking in the sun’s radiant glow. For Pharrell, the sun symbolised a universal source of life, and he eloquently expressed,
“When the sun shined on me for an opportunity like this, it changed my life across the board.”
Pharrell’s collection, with its captivating concept of “LVERS,” pays homage to those who appreciate the curation of Louis Vuitton. It encompasses not only an admiration for the brand’s products but also a profound love for the culture it represents.
The iconic LV Damier chessboard pattern takes centre stage in Pharrell’s designs, seamlessly merging the classic monogram with a modern, pixelated aesthetic. The collection boasts a remarkable fusion, particularly with the striking ‘Damoflage’ print that artfully combines Damier and camouflage elements.
The star-studded event drew an array of A-list celebrities, with prominent figures like Jared Leto, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Lewis Hamilton, Maluma, J Balvin, Jaden Smith, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Beyoncé, and JAY-Z in attendance.
While fashion empresario Kanye West was not in attendance, partly due to his controversies at his last Paris Fashion Week appearance, his presence was felt when Jay-Z performed songs from their joint album Watch The Throne.
More striking, however, was the moment Pharrell Williams, in a video with Swizz Beats, paid homage to his fellow producer as the original ‘Louis Vuitton Don’, a moniker he moulded in his early discography.
