KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police have launched a manhunt for Faith Nketsi‘s husband, Nzuzo Njilo, and a man named Kwanda Ntshangase “in connection with a case of fraud.”
Where is Nzuzo Njilo? – Warrant of arrest issued for Faith Nketsi’s husband
In a statement, KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda released pictures of Njilo and Ntshangase whose warrants of arrest “were issued by the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 18 April 2023.”
According to authorities, Njilo and Ntshangase allegedly swindled a truck buyer out of an undisclosed amount of money in May 2021. An investigation revealed that Njilo and his accomplice allegedly posed as salesmen and invited the victim to view a truck at a dealership in Boksburg.
The unsuspecting buyer viewed the truck and when they were satisfied with its condition, they “paid the two a substantial amount of money.”
“The truck was never delivered and since then the duo could not be contacted and their whereabouts remain unknown,” Netshiunda revealed.
Of course, Njilo was hiding in plain sight the entire time, since about a year after the truck scam, the shoddy businessman tied the knot with South African reality TV star Faith Nketsi, in a lavish wedding that featured in an episode of her TV show, Have Faith.
Moreover, this is not the first fraud case linked to Njilo.
In May 2022, Nketsi’s husband was implicated in a fraud case filed by his ex-business partners.
In a City Press exclusive two accusers, Blaine Evans and James Stephens, claimed Njilo ran off with a figure close to a million rand, after falsely representing himself as a chrome mine owner.
“He also told me that he owned a chrome mine. We were in steady communication and had another meeting at Tang in Sandton, which he attended with Faith. We talked a little and discussed a few business deals,” Evans recalled at the time.
A deal was secured for a large shipment of copper at the value of R978 104, and Evans, along with his business partner Stephens, honoured their part by making the electronic transfer into Nzuzo’s account.
However, weeks rolled by with no response from Nzuzo who, at the time, was preoccupied with the wedding. According to Evans, after dodging calls for a while, Nzuzo finally surfaced in a meeting and promised to provide the business partners with a full refund.
Again, this was a lie, Evans said.
“Nzuzo Njilo defrauded us,” Evans said.
Despite rumours of rocky patches in their marriage, Nketsi and Njilo are still pretty much an item. albeit, the reality TV star, who has too much to lose, may be dragged into an active criminal investigation.
Police believe Njilo and Ntshangase are hiding “in the vicinity of Pietermaritzburg and anyone with any information of the whereabouts of these wanted suspects is urged to contact [police].”
