Khumalo appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court, on Tuesday, where the case was postponed to 22 February 2024. The severity of the charges has escalated the case to the regional court level.
Outside the court, Khumalo addressed a large crowd, expressing gratitude for their support. He announced his and his group’s plans to combat crime in Hillbrow, asserting their commitment to a safer South Africa.
“No matter what they try, we will continue to fight for a safe South Africa,” he said.

What is Xolani accused of?
Khumalo is accused of beating a man named Varrie to death during the filming of an unaired episode of his show, Sizok’thola, in Katlehong.
Since the incident, DStv channel Moja Love has confirmed that Khumalo will not return to the show.
“Moja Love TV Channels has terminated its relationship with Mr Xolani Khumalo, presenter of one of the channel’s leading shows, Sizok’thola. The channel will not be commenting on any matters relating to Mr Khumalo at this stage and wishes him everything of the best in his future endeavours,” the statement read.
Despite being dropped by Moja Love, Khumalo has found new avenues to pursue his mission. He has partnered with Mgcini Tshwaku, Johannesburg’s MMC for public safety, to fight crime in the city.
This collaboration involves supporting the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s (JMPD) new units focusing on crime prevention and combating.
Khumalo’s involvement extends through his Xolani Khumalo Foundation, which he claims Moja Love asked him to dissolve.
The foundation’s work, aligned with the success of Sizokuthola, aims to serve the community and enhance safety, collaborating with other organisations in crime-fighting efforts.
