Moja Love TV has severed ties with Xolani Khumalo, the host of the Sizokthola show, effective immediately.
Moja Love TV cancels ‘Sizokthola’, severs ties with Xolani Khumalo
In a statement released on Friday, Moja Love TV officially ended its contract with presenter Xolani Khumalo.
This development follows Khumalo’s arrest after he turned himself in at the Katlehong North Police Station in September 2023.
The channel, known for its diverse programming, has chosen to withhold comments regarding the specifics of Khumalo’s dismissal at present.
Nevertheless, Moja Love TV has expressed goodwill towards Khumalo’s future endeavours.
“Moja Love TV Channels has terminated its relationship with Mr Xolani Khumalo, presenter of one of the channel’s leading shows, Sizok’thola. The channel will not be commenting on any matters relating to Mr Khumalo at this stage and wishes him everything of the best in his future endeavours,” the statement read.
The circumstances leading to this decision are linked to a tragic event that transpired during the filming of Sizokthola.
Robert ‘Kicks’ Varrie, allegedly involved in drug dealing, was being interviewed by Khumalo and his crew when the incident occurred, resulting in Varrie’s death.
Varrie was later pronounced dead at the Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital in Vosloorus.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed in July 2023 that a murder investigation involving Khumalo was initiated in Vosloorus, which is currently active.
The case continues to unfold, with many details yet to be disclosed to the public.
