Ibrahim Baya Gamby was last seen on Sunday, 12 May 2024, in the company of three men in the lobby of the historic 12-storey Waldorf Arcade.
In the CCTV footage, timestamped 11:34, a towering Gamby, dressed in a black leather trenchcoat, is seen speaking to the three men, one of whom was in possession of a docket file.
Following a brief discussion, the three men exit the shop, but mill outside for a few seconds before re-entering to speak to an individual positioned in the camera’s blind spot.
Gamby then emerges to speak to the alleged officers who, according to an eyewitness heard in the video, donned police badges without numbers.
The rest of the security footage shows the Mali national casually escorted to a police van, under the impression he was being taken to the central station on Buitenkant Street.
However, bizarrely, friends of Gamby have not located him since, with fears growing that the three men dressed as police officers may be involved in his disappearance.
