Residents in Hout Bay are set to experience planned electricity outages on 21 and 28 February 2024, as announced by the City of Cape Town’s Electricity Generation and Distribution Department.

The outages are scheduled to facilitate critical maintenance work at the major Bisschop electricity substation in the area.
On both days, the interruption of the electricity supply will occur from 08:00 to 16:00.
The maintenance is essential for ensuring a reliable electricity supply for residents in Hout Bay, the City explained in a statement.

“City teams are carrying out important maintenance to critical power infrastructure, and this maintenance work ensures a reliable electricity supply for residents in the area.”
