The many twists of the mysterious ‘Tembisa 10’ story, first broken by Pretoria News last week Monday, have taken a new direction as more details surface on the bizarre disappearance of Gosiame Thamara Sithole and her decuplets.
Tembisa 10 father assists police in missing persons case
In an update published by Piet Rampedi, the man who uncovered this ‘thriller’, on Monday evening, Sithole’s boyfriend, Teboho Tsotetsi, opened up a bit more about the mystery surrounding his partner.
According to the decuplets’ father, Sithole has, since she’s been missing, been communicating with him on WhatsApp. The worried Tsotetsi, who already fathers Sitholes six-year-old twins, shared screenshots of his conversations with the missing Tembisa 10 mom, where she made a number of bothersome claims.
After delaying the missing person investigation, Tsotetsi has since complied with detectives in the search for the 37-year-old.
“I appreciate the financial support that we have been getting from members of the public, but I also would like to appeal to the public to stop making money deposits into our accounts until members of the community have seen the babies,” Tsotesti pleaded.
A complete timeline on the decuplets mystery
As the days roll by, it seems, more bizarre details surface on Sithole and her claim that she birthed 10 babies at once. To get a better understanding of all the information that has surfaced thus far, we have created a clear timeline of events, starting on the day Sithole was last seen by her family.
Sunday 6 June 2021
According to Tsotetsi’s statement which has formed part of the police investigation, the last time he saw Sithole was on Sunday evening. He had allegedly rushed the 37-year-old mom to Esangweni Clinic in Tembisa after her water had allegedly broken.
Monday 7 June 2021
Shortly after midnight, on Monday 7 June 2021, Tsotetsi claims he received text messages from his decuplet-bearing partner informing him that she had been moved to Mediclinic Medforum Hospital, about 42km away from the clinic he last saw her at. Sithole allegedly told also told her boyfriend that her cesarian section was schedule for 18:00 to 20:00 later that evening.
Tuesday 8 June 2021
In the wee hours of Tuesday 8 June 2021, Tsotetsi claims he received a WhatsApp message from Sithole claiming that she had successfully welcomed 10 babies, seven boys and three girls, at 29 weeks.
According to the information he was given by his partner, Tsotetsi believed that Sithole was still at the Mediclinic hospital. However, he could not pay her or his newborn miracle babies a visit due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Thursday 10 June 2021
After failing to get reliable information on Sithole’s whereabouts, her family, Pretoria News reported, filed a missing person docket at Tembisa police station.
Friday 11 June 2021
At this point, Tsotetsi was the main focus in the search for Sithole. He was the last person to see her alive and the only person who seemed to have primary contact with the 37-year-old. Feeling the pressure, Tsotetsi pressured Sithole into divulging more accurate information on her whereabouts and this time around, the missing mom informed him that she had been moved to Tshwane District Hospital, situated on Dr Savage Road, Pretoria.
Saturday 12 June 2021
A day after he’d been informed of Sithole’s alleged transfer to yet another hospital — she was apparently moved from Tshwane District Hospital to a ‘mother’s lodge’ at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, Tsotetsi’s attitude towards the missing person investigation changed. In about six days since he parted ways with Sithole who claimed to be in labour, he had not seen her or any proof of the existence of these miracle decuplets.
It was on this day that he decided to comply with the investigation and submit his official statement.
From the information collected thus far, this mysterious mothers’ lodge, where women who’ve either birthed stillborn or premature babies are held, is the last known location Sithole shared with her boyfriend.
Pretoria hospitals that have no record of Tembisa 10 birth
At the time this article was published, Sithole was still a missing person. Interestingly, the 37-year-old had informed her boyfriend that her miracle birth was pulled off by four doctors, two gynaecologists and five nurses.
However, according to the Mediclinic hospital in question, “none of our facilities were involved in the obstetric care of this patient or her decuplets.”
Moreover, Steve Biko Academy Hospital CEO Dr Mathabo Mathebula, in an interview with Radio 702, shockingly revealed that Sithole had walked into the medical centre on Saturday 12 June 2021 dressed in her clothes and without the 10 babies.
Dr Mathebula also revealed that Sithole had informed officials at Steve Biko Academy Hospital that the birth of the decuplets was recorded at Louis Pasteur Hospital, and not the Mediclinic branch she’d mentioned to her boyfriend.
As it’s come to be expected, officials from Louis Pasteur have since gone on record to confirm that no record of such a birth exists in their books.
In yet another bizarre twist, Dr Mathebula told Radio 702 that the last time she spoke to Sithole was on Monday, and she’d informed her that she was at home resting.
