Attacks launched by Russia against Ukraine have prompted a potential world war, and according to pundits, this is only a preamble for what The Kremlin has in store.
Russia attacks Ukraine: Here are the latest updates
In a televised address, President Vladimir Putin laid into his motivations behind launching an assault on Ukraine, naming the potentially disastrous move a step towards correcting the ills of the past that, ultimately, culminated in the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
An exasperated Putin blasted Ukraine for moving away from USSR (United of Soviet Socialist Republics) traditions, cuddling with Western nationalists, and failing to honour its debt to Russia.
Since the address, Russian military forces have launched missile attacks on key Ukrainian military bases, in what Putin terms, a “demilitarisation” effort.
At the time this article was published, reports coming from regions in Ukraine indicate more than a hundred casualties have resulted from missile attacks in main cities, like Kiev, Kyiv, Mariupol and Kharkiv.
Here are some of the videos that have surfaced on social media, showing the scale of the attacks led by Russia against Ukraine.
