Istanbul bombing: What’s the latest death toll?
As reported by NPR, at least six people were killed in the blast that occurred on Istiklal Avenue on Sunday, 13 November 2022. Moreover, at the time of reporting, it’s believed at least 81 other innocent lives were left critically injured.
In a public address that followed the Istanbul bombing, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the incident as an outright attack and vowed to leave no stone unturned in identifying the suspects.
“Our people should be assured that the perpetrators of the incident on Istiklal Avenue will be punished as they deserve. The relevant units of our state continue to work to uncover the perpetrators of this treacherous attack and the groups behind it,” he said.

Here’s the latest on the suspects behind the Turkey attack
High-level investigations are underway to track down the origins of the bomb that claimed six lives on Istiklal Avenue, Istanbul’s busiest shopping district, on Sunday.
According to reports, at least one suspect has been arrested and linked to the Istanbul bombing incident. No further information has surfaced on the identity of the sus[pct and while the bombing was recognised as an attack, the Turkish government has yet to outrightly link it to terrorism.
